Record Types are a powerful way to organize and segment your Salesforce records into logical divisions based on your business needs. For organizations leveraging record types, Formstack offers Record Type as a field that can be added to any form as required.
To use Record Types in your forms, simply drag and drop the ‘Record Type’ field from the Available Fields list into your form canvas. You’ll notice that record type fields are hidden by default and always require a default value. To specify the record type for all submissions of a particular form, simply click the edit icon next to your Record Type field and select your preferred record type from the Default Value picklist. Note that defining a record type for your form submission does not add any validation or rule enforcement to your form.
